WHO CARES!?

you've got to do whatever you can to get people in the door these days. i think that MORE guys would come if they knew that the women were gettin' in for cheap.

how many 'ladies nights' have you been to at a club that wasn't SWARMING with dudes.

i think you guys are doing alright.

wow i think this guy gets it! :)

and dj KO, obviously if you are attending, you are not a sleezeball! the $10 will only scare away the sleezeballs, as they judge parties solely based on cover charge and likelihood of getting laid. a Trance event that is costing them $10 will surely keep most of the pervs outta the bar, and get many awesome girls INTO the bar. when girls have fun, and spread the word, guys will follow. please respect what we are doing, as we were originally going to charge $10 a head to everyone.

the only difference, is that girls get in cheaper...

if we honestly do not think about the "gender difference" thing, and think about how the turn out will be effected by this, i think everyone can agree that this will help create a much better vibe, considering how crazy Iowa City bars can get on a Friday night.

if the town is out in full force, then that means that Frat boys will out number Girls, as usual. The ratio of the bar-going population is not equal, and therefore, we most endorse a reversed-ratio pricing system. To scare away the access of dudes, you charge them more, which should create a nearly equal ratio of attendees, and a High-Energy, Fun-Loving Vibe that we need at this event.

I have been complimented by countless girls from my Evolution and Ecology courses (smart women) that totally love this idea, and it is one of the MAIN reasons they are finally deciding to come to one of the many events i have been telling them about.

PREPARE YOURSELVES!

Well I guess you'll have to come out and see it in all of its full glory!

Or just come in drag and I'll give ya the discount.

sooo...

which one of you psy guys was the 1st to come up w/ this idea of charging "dudes" more?

of course it was a decision that was approved by the collective but I'm just curious as too who 1st came up w/ this idea.

Also by you guys gender pricing this show am I to conclude that all future mindoutpsyde events will be biasly priced by gender as well?

I'm not bitching here either so please don't respond w/ a justification as to why you're organizing your show the way you are, just answer the ?'s at hand.

in order to even break even with Ocelot we needed to have at least half the people that come in pay 10$. Rather than charge 10 to all, we only are charging 10 to guys, because this way with all the out-of-state attendance that will be present, we can ensure that there will be a balance of the sexes. Girls tend to dance more man, we just want as much dancing and positive energy as possible. This will keep away the sleeze ball dudes!

does it matter who thought of it?

and why would we charge guys more at our future events that aren't in downtown Iowa City at a bar?

was there a point to your post Tyler?

id be happy to answer your questions if you would make one supportive post, unless of course, you don't want to. totally understandable Tyler...

Abe your taking this pretty seriously, I simply asked a ?, if you can't satisfy my curiousity then I guess you can't, if I was throwing a party & someone wanted to know something I would definatley own up to whatever it was they were wanting to know.

did I attack how your organizing your party? did I ask my question in a rude or unfriendly manner? I even stated that I'm not complaining & that I'm curious. Didn't know that I had to prove a point to you to get an answer from a friend.

there is nothing wrong w/ me asking who came up w/ an idea & if that will stand for future parties. I don't know where you plan to throw future events so me inquiring about you charging more at future events is totally legit.

before you respond to this post I would consider continuing this in a pm b/c there is no need for you to get defensive on your own parties forum page.

Also why do I have to make a supportive post to get an answer if I plan to attend & support your party anyways? I'm not all about internet hype, I have always supported the shows that mindoutpsyde has thrown despite my personal views on certain individuals involed in your events & the way they're organized. You know why I support your shows? Because I support my family & I support this scene. Again if you can't answer my ? that's fine, I don't plan to go cry about it & I will not badger you to get an answer.
